Why We Do It

The growing population, climate change and slow crop-breeding programs are heading us to a world food crisis.   From Chile, we want to contribute to the global challenge of reducing hunger in the world (today, over 820 million people suffer from hunger), and to mitigate the negative effects on crop productivity caused by events associated with climate change. Another purpose that moves us is to promote a healthier society, through the development of more nutritious and healthy food

In particular in Chile, half of the soil has been lost due to erosion and droughts are getting worse. This motivates us to develop new, more resilient and sustainable crops that increase productivity, using less surface area. Resulting crops, contain increased nutritional value, and are adapted to the edaphoclimatic conditions of each geography with a focus on Latin America.

“We want to deliver ‘Made in Chile’ solutions for the country and the world.”
